Robert L. Terdiman also known as “Steve Kelsey”, 56, Duncansville, died unexpectedly on Sunday at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. He was born in Philadelphia, the son of Marvin and Sharon (Kelsey) Terdiman. He married Denise Cogan on August 16, 1998.

Surviving are his wife; his mother; two children, Ryan M. Ickes at home and Katie Walters (Michael), Hollidaysburg; a brother, Jay S. Terdiman (Kathryn), Berwick; a nephew and Godson, Jayson Terdiman, Lake Placid, NY; brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father and father-in-law, James M. Cogan.

Rob was a 1975 graduate of Altoona High School and Penn State University with a degree in Communications.

Rob started in radio in 1974 with WFBG as a disc jockey. He was a well known radio personality hosting “All Night Album Rock” starting in 1977, then evolving into the legendary “Frogman” with Froggy 98 since its inception in 1991. He was also well known for sharing his love of music by DJ’ing teen dances, weddings and gatherings throughout Froggy Land.

He was a sports fan of all Philadelphia teams, the Ohio State Buckeyes, NASCAR driver, Mark Martin and Altoona Curve.

Rob was a board member of American Heart Association, former President and Vice President of Central PA Humane Society, a volunteer for MS Society. He was involved with Christmas Carol for 24 years and visited kindergarten through 3rd grade classes to record the Pledge of Allegiance to be played on the radio. He also facilitated Trick or Treat for Kids Who Can’t.

He continues to give back generously to his community through organ donation.

Friends will be received from 3-8 pm, Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family requests that contributions be made to Christmas Carol Foundation, 1 Forever Drive, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 or to The Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Boulevard, Altoona, PA 16602.
