Julius L. "Butch" Morgan

Julius L. “Butch” Morgan, 78, Patton passed away June 17, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born March 7, 1941 in Patton, the son of Roy E. and Alice (Jolly) Morgan.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Jerry and John “Jack” Morgan.  He is survived by his loving wife Sandra (Reid) Morgan, whom he married November 25, 1961, children Jeffrey Morgan, Patton, Cindy (Tim) Hammel, Hollidaysburg, Sherry (Steve) Gorsuch, Ashville, grandchildren Nathan Sauserman, Olivia Sauserman, Mae Miller and several nieces and nephews.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  He was a US Army veteran and retired from Bethlehem Steel after many years of service where he continued to serve as a consultant after his retirement.  Julius was a member of the Patton Presbyterian Church, Patton VFW and Patton American Legion.  He enjoyed hunting and home improvement projects.  At Julius’s request there will be no visitation.  Funeral service 11:00 am Thursday at the Patton Presbyterian Church by Rev. David McCabe.  Committal Fairview cemetery, Patton.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society.  Full military rites will be accorded by John White VFW Post 779 and Walter McCoy American Legion Post 614.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heritage Hospice and Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for their care.  (www.stevensfamilyfuneralhomes.com)
