Bernard J. "Skip" Vermeulin

Bernard J. “Skip” Vermeulin, Sr., 70, Elmora, passed away May 19, 2019 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.  He was born August 25, 1948 in Spangler, the son of Emil, Sr. and Agnes (Frederick) Vermeulin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Delores Nepa, Louise Golmitz, Bernadine Dunlap and Josephine Kuzar and brother Emil E. Vermeulin, Jr.  He is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Thomas) Vermeulin, whom he married July 31, 1971, children Bernard “Skipper” (Jennifer) Vermeulin, Lewistown, Pa, Brett Vermeulin, Columbus, OH, Bennett (Brenda Kempton) Vermeulin, Columbus, OH and Bonnie (Jason) Fulton, Normalville, Pa, grandchildren Sarah, Sandra and Charles Vermeulin, Veronica, Danny, Vanessa and Henry Fulton, brother Richard Vermeulin, Portage and sister Emily Franceschini, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.  Bernard served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He enjoyed rebuilding cars.  At Bernard’s request there will be no visitation.  Memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm Friday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., 146 North Main Street Carrolltown by Rev. Jude W. Brady, OSB.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Jude’s Memorial and Honor Gifts PO Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or Shriner’s Hospital Attn: Office of Development 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607. Full military honors will be accorded by local veteran organizations.  (
